CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character Name:
Futa Kajiyama
Age: 20
Canon: Milgram
Canon Point: Before his second judgment is passed.
Character Information: Here but there ain't jack shit there so basically: (CW suicide, cyber bullying, pregnancy, brief mention of sex trafficking, and various other murder related things.)

Milgram is about 10 people from various walks of life who are whisked away to a magical prison, where a tiny jackalope and a prison guard named ES tell them they will all be judged for their various crimes. Their crimes all have one thing in common though: Someone was Murdered*

*ish. The crimes intensely vary, and range from being blamed for their spouse dying, or for having an abortion. Along with ES, the audience (as in, US. It is an interactive canon), view clues to everyone's various crimes via a machine projecting their thoughts.......in the form of music videos. Stay with me for a moment!!

Futa specifically is Prisoner 003, an impulsive loud mouth who was revealed to be part of an online bullying campaign that resulted in a middle schooler committing suicide. More on that later, but Futa is initially judged as GUILTY ICly and OOCly, resulting in harsh consequences (being beaten up by another prisoner and losing sight in one of his eyes). However, as more details were revealed in his second trial, Futa expresses remorse and reveals he wasn't alone in the bullying, he just happened to be the one to get caught. Plus, if he's voted Guilty again, he likely would die; it's implied he only survived the first encounter because another prisoner saved him. He received an INNOCENT verdict in round two ICly and OOCly, and we don't yet know the consequences this has on his psyche.

Basically Futa is part of a anime Milgram Experiment and it's going horrifically. His total canon is comprised of two three minute-ish music videos, two fifteen minute voice dramas, and various mini comics and written interviews, the latter of which I was too lazy to compile here but I promise they exist!! If this isn't allowed it's all gravy if he's rejected BUT MY GOSH I'M TRYING TO ARGUE FOR IT:

Personality:
Futa is described as "a coward with a strong sense of justice." A university student and soccer player, he's had a fairly average life, and though he makes some really stupid decisions, he's ultimately a good person who regrets his actions and hurting others. He's a young man with a lot of contradictory emotions hanging over his head.

As the resident hothead, Futa is incredibly impulsive. He's the first prisoner to actively try to attack the prison guard, only to find out they're protected by a force field, and he's forced back. He constantly struggles against his restraints, and even the failed attack doesn't stop him from slinging insults. This is reflected in in the projection of his 'crime,' as well, being more than willing to jump in on twitter convos to mock others, and making assumptions without having all the details. He sees a male teacher cornering a female teacher in a faculty office, and without getting all the facts first, he posts it to social media, encouraging people to report the teacher.

He's also got one hell of a brash, foul mouth. He's quick to tell others to shut the hell up, and slings insults at ES immediately, berating him for being younger, and also demanding that he be treated better in the prison. When asked how he's doing with prison life, his first complaint is that there are no PHONES or INTERNET. How dare you deprive of him of his basic human rights!! His initial song is also littered with F Bombs, and he equates people in his call out posts to demons and video game bosses, ripe for trashing, imagining himself using a "Flame Sword" to knock them out. It's a bit on the nose.

Then the big one--Futa's incredibly judgmental, thinking that "the world is full of guys who deserve to be looked down on." From his perspective, doing call out posts online seems like a good thing. He initially is more of a follower--joining up others to insult or flame randos for doing stupid shit on the internet, and gaining satisfaction when those same people are served 'justice' (called out or cancelled). He says things like "It's karma!" "If you sin you need to atone" and "I won't stop til you say sorry." When his friends engage in their campaigns, he refers to it as "hunting down the liars" and imagines themselves as RPG heroes taking down bad guys (who then have twitter birds floating over their heads after they are defeated). He truly believes they're in the right and doing good, and slowly starts being more vocal about his call outs...until one day he goes too far, doxxing a middle school rich girl after she posts pics of herself for trying on fancy accessories with no intent of buying them. A completely harmless gesture that he takes upon himself to be morally outraged over.

Which leads to the other side of the coin: Futa is a hypocritical little bitch. While he's long accepted what he did was wrong, it takes forever for Futa to actually admit it. When pressed and asked if he killed anyone, he deflects, saying he didn't, never apologizing, despite guilt eating away at him. He also uses his actions to try and call out the prison itself, asking why is it bad for him to pass judgment on someone, but ES and milgram's audience are allowed to do so to him without having all the facts? (On a meta note, I do find it hilarious that Futa is voted guilty for twitter crimes by twitter, as you need a twitter/X account to vote in Milgram). He also blame shifts, pointing out that he wasn't alone in the bullying campaign, and doesn't understand why only he is being punished. After his victim commits suicide, it's also implied that his friends/online groups turned on him, trying to call him out, and having to shoulder all the blame takes a toll on him. He also claims that people who resort to violence are the worst, though he'd tried to attack the prison guard immediately in their first encounter.

Going back to the 'coward with a sense of justice,' bit, it turns out while Futa has some bite. . .he's really a lot of bark. It's easy to act like a big man when surrounded by friends hyping you up and you're protected by the anonymity of being online, but in reality Futa would rather keep his head down and live a peaceful life. He still has a foul mouth and hot headed attitude, but he much rather not act on it if he doesn't have to. ES also calls him out on this, pointing out that even though Futa attacked him, he was shaking with fright. He pivots and makes the excuse that he was totally just shaking from excitement, but this is backed up by how freaked out he is when another prisoner attacks him, only surviving because an older inmate intervened to save him. He'd rather fight with words than with fists, and is quick to turn tail if given the chance. The same goes for his guilty accusations--despite knowing what he did was wrong, he doubles down instead of admitting it outright initially, literally seen running from all the judgmental eyes watching him in his second MV.

MAN HE KINDA SOUNDS LIKE A PIECE OF SHIT HUH?? He's got some good points I swear! First off, going along with that (misguided) sense of justice, Futa can be highly protective of others. He displays this with the other prisoners, initially deigning himself as their representative and trying to argue that keeping them here is inhumane and violates a lot of laws ES and Jackalope don't care about. He also takes it upon himself to look after Prisoner 001, a teenager who seems to be mentally regressed, and another who seems to be confused about the situation (unknown to Futa at the time, the other has DID). He also initially expresses disgust for the two oldest of the prisoners, angry at them for being older men (in their 30s/40s) seemingly being okay with the situation and not doing anything to help them escape. He changes his tune when they both keep Futa from dying when he's attacked later.

And despite the words spewing from his mouth, right out the gate, it's obvious Futa regrets his actions. In his first projection, after he's slain the Witch (the middle schooler), rather than his standard victory pose, we see him with blood smeared on his face and looking horrified, immediately realizing that in real life, this girl's death was his fault despite it being a suicide, and him very much having blood on his hands. Later he's seen hiding under his blanket in his room, doom scrolling on his phone as the online community turns against him. In Milgram proper, through he denies it several times, his voice quivers and he sounds less and less confident every time he tries to say "I didn't kill anyone." By the second trial he's fully accepted it, and begs for forgiveness.

Overall, Futa is a big emotional mess. But it's not just his previously mentioned angry outbursts and his insult slinging. Once he's cracked, Futa breaks down. During the second trial, he's sobbing and begging for an innocent verdict, for fear of being killed by another prisoner--one doing the exact same thing he was accused of. For context, the other prisoner is on trial for murdering what was implied to be a sex trafficker. Good for her, easily justified, right? She was voted Innocent. Well, turns out it's implied she just really likes killing and looks for an excuse to do so. When Futa is voted Guilty by ES in the first trial, she takes it upon herself to enact her own punishment, deeming him scum and not worthy of forgiveness, nearly killing him and several others. Futa exclaims how are ES's judgements any different from his own, if it results in other innocent people besides himself either dying or being harmed? He recognizes what he did was wrong but intensely feels like he's being given far more punishment than needed. But just as quickly as he is weeping, he turns back on the anger again. When his pleas fall on deaf ears, ES stating he has to fairly judge them all, Futa screams I'LL KILL YOU over and over again instead. One extreme to another.

Finally all that deep shit aside, Futa is just a dude. A standard guy. Just a normal ass man. While his crime is certainly nothing to take lightly and very serious, compared the some of the other residents, it's easy to see why he feels like he's going crazy being lumped in with them. Other prisoners include the mentioned prisoner with DID ( who has a violent, murderous alter ego that goes by John Doe), the self-righteous murderer that attacked him, a child cultist, a doctor that may or may not have been harvesting organs, and a queen bee bitch who is outright shown stabbing someone to death but still got an Innocent verdict. The closest other 'conventional' normal person is Yuno, who is there due to her abortion, and is very aware all this is bullshit, so she isn't nearly as freaked out as Futa. Futa comments on how fucking weird it is that everyone else is so calm about their situation and make no efforts to escape, and some even find the experience enjoyable. Futa is having none of that, and simply wants to go back to college, play soccer, and have wifi. He also thinks pretty stereotypical thoughts--when asked how he feels about his gender he simply says "it is what it is," and thinks it's annoying that men are expected to work harder, but accepts it as such.

SO YEAH IS FUTA A GREAT GUY? N...not really. But does he deserve to be in a magical prison run by a rude little jackalope full of actual conscious murderers?? Probably not. Sucks for him, get off twitter, nerd.
